 How to set the Lock Screen wallpaper?

1. Does the 4-quadrant Lock Screen wallpaper update in real-time? No, it is not real-time. It refreshes when you open or close the Matrix app after setting up the Apple Shortcuts app.


2. The Lock Screen setting keeps appearing when using the Matrix app. For most users, this happens because the Shortcuts app automation settings are incorrect.

  • You must select [Run Immediately].

  • Please disable [Ask Before Running]. (Refer to Step 3 in the [Shortcuts App Setup Guide] linked above.)

  • Please toggle the [Show Preview] switch to OFF. (Refer to Step 12 in the [Shortcuts App Setup Guide] linked above.)

  • Delete the existing automation you registered in the Shortcuts app and check the guide again.


3. The Home Screen wallpaper looks blurry. On the screen for Step 12 in the [Shortcuts App Setup Guide], please turn off the [Blur] switch.


4. I want to set the 4-quadrant layout for the Lock Screen only. On the screen for Step 11 in the [Shortcuts App Setup Guide], uncheck [Home Screen]. Then, long-press on your Home Screen, tap the [Edit] button in the top left, and set your desired wallpaper in the wallpaper settings.


5. Is the Lock Screen wallpaper setting different from the widget? Yes, they are different features.

  • The 4-quadrant layout is a feature that sets photos on your Lock Screen.

  • The Home Widget is a widget you add to your Home Screen within the app.

  • Home Widgets update in real-time.
